Hayden made it through his first day of preschool. Like I thought, it was harder for us than it was for him. Dill's practice didn't start until 3PM, so he was able to go with me to drop Hayden off for his first day. We got to the school early, so Hayden had a chance to see all the school busses. He loves school busses! He also had time to pose for a few pictures...
When it was time to walk him up to meet his teachers, he went willingly and seemed to be very excited.
He greeted the teachers with a "Good morning!" after they greeted him. A few minutes later he gave Dill and I a kiss and said "bye, love you." He and one of the other boys held on to the "ring rope" (rope with rings on it to keep a group of kids together in a line) and walked into the building. Hayden never looked back.

Mrs. Pam, the lead teacher, called me a few hours later to let me know Hayden was doing great on his first day. Wasn't that sweet! I didn't ask her to do this, but when she offered I gladly took her up on it.

I kept myself busy until I went back to pick him up. The day actually went by faster than I thought it would. I think I just felt so at ease because his teachers are so nice and seem to genuinely care about him and the other boys in his class.
I was the first preschool parent to arrive at the school. When he came out holding Mrs. Pam's hand, he looked so happy. When he saw me he said, "Mawny, see the school bus?" My sweet boy had a good day at school. While it is still a little hard knowing he is there full time, I am so excited about all that he is going to learn.
All three teachers told me how sweet he is and how well he did in class today. This new chapter is starting out pretty good!

So glad his day went so well! (and glad you did ok too!) It's an exciting start for you all. We'll keep praying for you!

Praise the Lord, Sherry! I was thinking of you all day today. I am so glad that he went in with such joy, and came out with such joy too! Sounds like his teachers are wonderful and I can't wait to see all that he will learn too!
Sherry I love the pictures of Hayden with his backpack on and can hardly believe what a big boy he is going to school! I praise God for answered prayer that he is in such a great place and that he has had such a great experience so far. I'm also thankful that you seem to be adjusting so well. I stand amazed at God's goodness...
