It's hard to believe that is has been two weeks since we heard the news about Hayden. Tomorrow is a really big day for us. Dill and I will be meeting with Wake County to discuss Hayden's IEP(Individualized Education Program) and educational placement. It blows my mind that my 3 year old son has an IEP. As a former teacher, I had students with IEP's but they were in middle school. I am just so very thankful that we are starting this early and can't wait to see Hayden's progress. (This is assuming that they will place him in a Special Education Preschool Class...we don't know for sure until tomorrow.) We will also find out if they will be offering Hayden speech therapy and occupational therapy. Right now he receives speech therapy 30 minutes a week and occupational therapy 45 minutes a week. Speech therapy is not covered by our insurance and occupational therapy is only covered for 16 visits, so we are nearing the end of our coverage. We are going to ask for speech therapy twice a week and occupational therapy 1-2 times a week. We are hoping they will agree because these therapies are very expensive when they are being paid out of pocket through private therapists.

Please know that I have already been praying and I will continue to pray for your meeting tomorrow. I pray that you will have peace and clarity, as well as open and honest communication with Wake County. I pray that you all will be able to make unanimous decisions for the benefit of Hayden. I look forward to hearing how it goes!!!!
